Lee Jung-hoo of the San Francisco Giants in U.S. professional baseball recorded a multi-hit game against Cy Young Award-winning pitcher Tarik Skubal.
Playing as the visiting team against the Los Angeles Dodgers in a Major League Baseball (MLB) game at Dodger Stadium in California, U.S., Lee went 2-for-4 with an RBI, including a double.
Raising his batting sense with his first multi-hit game in 10 days, Lee brought his season batting average to 0.276 (148 hits in 536 at-bats).
Starting as the cleanup hitter and right fielder for the third consecutive game, Lee swung the bat sharply from his very first plate appearance, but was unfortunately robbed by a brilliant defensive play.
With two outs and a runner on first in the top of the first inning, he hammered the first pitch from Dodgers starting pitcher Skubal for a potential base hit to right-center, only to be denied by Kyle Tucker's diving catch.
In the top of the third inning with the game tied 2-2, he hit a fortunate bloop single that just cleared the infielder's reach.
Lee's bat exploded once again in his third plate appearance.
In the top of the fifth inning with San Francisco trailing 4-3 and a runner on second with no outs, he drove in a run with a stinging double piercing right-center against Skubal.
In the top of the seventh inning, he was retired on a fly ball to left field against Dodgers relief pitcher Alex Vesia.
Despite Lee's strong performance, San Francisco suffered a 10-4 defeat as their pitching mound collapsed.
