Figure Skater Ko Na-yeon Ranks 2nd in Junior Grand Prix Short Program with Personal Best of 70.21 Points

Ko Na-yeon (Uijeongbu Girls High School) has broken her personal best score in the women's singles short program at the 4th stop of the 2026 International Skating Union (ISU) Figure Skating Junior Grand Prix.

Competing at the Ümitköy Ice Skating Rink in Ankara, Turkey, on the 17th (Korean time), Ko scored a total of 70.21 points, combining 41.65 points in technical elements (TES) and 28.56 points in program components (PCS).

Improving her previous ISU-certified short program personal best (65.58 points) by 4.63 points, Ko finished in second place, 4.06 points behind the leader, Mei Okada of Japan (74.27 points).

Skating 27th among the 39 competitors, Ko received a grade of execution (GOE) of 0.83 points on her opening jumping pass—the triple flip-triple toe loop combination jump (base value 9.50 points)—after receiving a long edge call (edge warning) on the flip jump.

Ko then earned 0.85 points in GOE on her double axel (base value 3.30 points), executed a flying camel spin at the maximum difficulty level 4, and cleanly landed a triple lutz (base value 6.49 points) in the bonus section to pick up 1.85 points in GOE.

Ko wrapped up her performance with a layback spin (level 4), followed by a step sequence (level 4) and a change foot combination spin (level 3).
