Hyoyeon, the leader of HYORISOO—a Girls' Generation unit group beloved as a sixth-generation idol group—openly shared the group's identity and behind-the-scenes stories from her Girls' Generation days.
Appearing on the YouTube channel "ChimChakMan" broadcast on the 16th, Hyoyeon discussed the popularity of her YouTube channel "Hyoyeon's Level Up," which has surpassed 680,000 subscribers. She explained, "I tend to be shy and am not great at small talk, so a talk show format wasn't easy. However, the production team noticed my humor in front of close friends and created the current 'Fake Kim Hyoyeon' skit concept, allowing me to express myself naturally."
Hyoyeon generated buzz by candidly capturing the process of debuting in HYORISOO alongside Sooyoung and Yuri on the channel. Regarding this, she added, "Many people misunderstand, but there is a script. While the ad-libs in between are mine, the overall flow is scripted," and noted, "When we talk among ourselves, the members hit on points not in the script so well that our reactions turned out really fun."
Hyoyeon also opened up about her past promotions with Girls' Generation. She confessed, "They did give me spotlighted parts like dance breaks, but I believe a singer needs to sing rather than just dance. I worked hard taking vocal lessons and practicing dance for seven years, but as the time for me to use my voice became limited, I lost confidence. I was a bit heartbroken back then."
When asked about Girls' Generation's reaction to HYORISOO achieving good results after releasing their debut album "Skibidi" last August, Hyoyeon replied, "They love it." Emphasizing Girls' Generation's tight-knit friendship by saying, "Because we do skits, people think we fought, but we didn't," she hinted at long-term activities, stating, "As much as many people have loved us, HYORISOO will keep going."
