With the opening of the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games just two days away, the main delegation of Team Korea departed for Japan, the host country, this morning (September 17).
While some events, including men's basketball which has advanced to the semifinals, have already begun their competition schedules, today's departing main delegation consists of 122 members, including Chef de Mission Lee Sang-hyun, Korean Sport & Olympic Committee headquarters officials, and athletes and officials from badminton, cycling, handball, table tennis, karate, and beach volleyball.
Table tennis player Shin Yu-bin and badminton player Seo Seung-jae led the departing delegation as the flag bearers.
Upon arriving in Japan, the delegation will enter their respective athletes' villages, begin adapting to the local environment, and then dive into the full-scale competition schedule.
