SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama "Doctor X: The Age of the White Mafia" has heightened anticipation to its peak by releasing its second teaser, which hints at the veiled identity of its protagonist, Kim Ji-won.
Slated to premiere on Friday, October 9, SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama "Doctor X: The Age of the White Mafia" (written by Pyeon Seung-geun, directed by Lee Jung-rim, hereinafter "Doctor X") is a refreshing medical noir depicting the exploits of Gye Su-jeong (played by Kim Ji-won), a "mad dog of the operating room" known as Doctor X who smashes massive absurdities with genius surgical skills that know neither failure nor compromise. It is drawing high expectations as the first medical genre entry in the "SBS Cider Universe," which previously produced hits like "Taxi Driver" and "The Fiery Priest."
Released on the 16th, the second teaser video for "Doctor X" opens with the voice of Gye Su-jeong reciting the Hippocratic Oath alone. The scene of her standing alone in a graduation cap before someone while taking the medical vow stimulates curiosity about the hidden story behind her.
Following this, scenes of Gye Su-jeong performing surgeries with relentless determination are trailed by an urgent crisis where someone is choking her. Reactions from those around her such as, "Isn't she completely obsessed with surgery?" along with the tagline "The most dangerous doctor," reveal Gye Su-jeong's unique character as someone who possesses both genius skills and a dangerous edge.
In the latter part of the video, a heavy line from hospital director Boo Seung-gwon (played by Son Hyun-ju), "Is Gye Su-jeong Doctor X?", is followed by Gye Su-jeong's gaze with an inscrutable expression over her surgical mask, leaving a strong lingering impression.
Meanwhile, "Doctor X," starring actors Kim Ji-won, Lee Jung-eun, Son Hyun-ju, and Kim Woo-seok, will premiere on Friday, October 9 at 9:50 p.m.
