The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 15th that it has appointed Kim Hyun-woo, former CEO of the Seoul Business Agency (SBA), as the new Economic Policy Chief overseeing the city's economic and industrial policies.
According to the city, since taking office as CEO of the Seoul Business Agency, Kim reorganized the organization into the SBA and successfully launched the global influencer festival "Seoul Con."
He has spearheaded efforts to enhance the competitiveness of Seoul's startup and industrial ecosystems by expanding the Young Adult Employment Academy and providing systematic support ranging from the growth of promising companies to market expansion and overseas advancement.
The city explained that Kim is the right person for the position of Economic Policy Chief, which oversees securing Seoul's future growth engines, such as fostering high-value-added industries, nurturing customized talent for the artificial intelligence (AI) transformation era, and restoring vitality to the livelihood economy.
Lee Ji-hyun, former Special Advisor for Planning, has been appointed as the Special Advisor for Nighttime Economy to assist with policies aimed at vitalizing Seoul's nighttime economy.
Having previously served as the city's Special Advisor for Vision Strategy and Special Advisor for Planning, Lee played a leading role in developing Seoul's charm into new contents, such as "Seoul My Soul," the "Haechi" character, and "Seoul Ramen."
Lee also contributed to implementing major municipal policies so that citizens can experience them firsthand, including urban space innovations such as the subway station Runner Station, Seoul Learn, and the 9988 Seoul Doctor.
The city evaluated that Lee is a perfect fit for the position of Special Advisor for Nighttime Economy, which requires a deep understanding of Seoul municipal administration and expertise in the planning field.
Jin Jae-sub, former Urban Railway Bureau Director at the Seoul Metropolitan Infrastructure Headquarters, has been selected and appointed today as the new Chairman of the Seoul Water Recycle Facility Corporation.
Beginning his public service career in the Seoul Metropolitan Government in 1995, the newly appointed Chairman Jin has accumulated approximately 31 years of diverse administrative and field experience, having worked at the World Cup Stadium Construction Division, Water Recycle Facility Division, Future Han River Headquarters, and the Metropolitan Infrastructure Headquarters.
The city expects him to stably lead the corporation's major pending issues based on the project implementation experience he has accumulated over the years.
