Kim Ha-seong has gone quiet once again.
Playing for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball (MLB), Kim recorded no hits in three at-bats, one walk, and one run in a home game against the Philadelphia Phillies held at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia, on the 13th (Korean time).
With his streak of consecutive games with a hit coming to an end, Kim's season batting average dropped to 0.131 (14 hits in 107 at-bats).
Starting as the ninth-batter and shortstop, Kim stepped up to the plate for his first appearance with two outs in the bottom of the third inning, but was struck out looking by Philadelphia starting pitcher Tim Mayza.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Kim reached base by drawing a walk and later crossed home plate to score on a double by subsequent batter Drake Baldwin.
Atlanta erupted for eight runs in the fourth inning alone, turning the game around to 8-1 and seizing momentum in an instant.
In his third plate appearance with two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the fifth inning, Kim was retired on a fly ball to left field.
With the score widened to 9-1, he was again retired on a left fielder fly ball with two outs and a runner on second in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Even though Philadelphia, having effectively conceded the game, brought in catcher Garrett Stubbs to the mound, Kim unfortunately failed to pick up a hit.
Atlanta, leading the National League (NL) East division, secured a 12-2 victory in their head-to-head matchup against division rival Philadelphia, extending their winning streak to three games.
