Everland held a 100th-day celebration party for the baby panda on September 11, attended by zookeepers Kang Cheol-won and Song Young-gwan and pre-invited panda fans, where the baby's name was revealed.
The name of the baby panda at Everland's Panda World, who is Fubao's youngest sibling, has been decided as "Shubao." Following the panda family's naming convention using "bao" (meaning treasure), the name carries the meaning of "a treasure as bright as the dawn light."
Baby panda Shubao, who weighed just 171 grams right after birth, has now surpassed 5.5 kilograms, showing explosive growth of more than 30 times over the past 100 days.
Starting around ten days after birth, black markings began to appear around her eyes, ears, shoulders, arms, and legs. She now features a plump body covered in white and black fur. Recently starting to sleep on her own away from her mother Aibao's embrace, Shubao is growing up healthily as her teeth begin to sprout.
