The under-21 men's national football team, preparing for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, will head to Australia for an away trip next month.
The Korea Football Association announced that the U-21 men's national team, led by head coach Kim Eun-jung, will play two friendly matches against the Australian U-21 national team at Polytec Stadium in Gosford, New South Wales, Australia, in October.
The first match will kick off at 2:00 PM on October 3, and the second match will be held behind closed doors at 12:00 PM on October 6.
This upcoming series of friendlies in Australia marks the first overseas trip for head coach Kim Eun-jung since taking the helm of the Olympic national team.
Coach Kim took charge of the LA Olympics national team in May through an open recruitment process, and held his first training camp in June at the Korea Football Park in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province.
In August, he expanded the player pool through a domestic training camp focused primarily on collegiate players and instilled the team's fundamental playing style.
The U-21 national team will assemble on the 21st of this month to train at the Korea Football Park before departing for Australia on the 28th.
The roster for the training camp will be announced at a later date.
The KFA stated, "The U-21 national team will continue to prepare for the Olympic qualifiers through training camps and international matches utilizing FIFA's official A-match windows."
