Two South Korean coaches are joining the coaching staff of the national football team led by head coach Roberto Moreno.
The Korea Football Association (KFA) announced on the 10th that Cho Yong-hyung, who works as a full-time KFA coach, and physical coach Lee Jae-hong have joined the interim national football team led by head coach Roberto Moreno.
The KFA explained, "Following local meetings with Moreno's coaching staff and subsequent discussions, the need for South Korean coaching staff to support the operation of the national team was raised, and this was carried out after review by the National Team Committee."
Coach Cho Yong-hyung will join the field coaching staff led by coach Eduardo Docampo and will be responsible for communication between Moreno's staff, the players, and their respective clubs.
Coach Lee Jae-hong will help manage physical fitness and conditioning tailored to each player's schedule, working alongside physical coach Javier Chocarro and others.
Coach Cho Yong-hyung, who competed as a national team member at the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa and the 2011 AFC Asian Cup in Qatar, has been working as a KFA full-time coach since 2022.
In 2023, he received coaching training at Bayern Munich in Germany under a memorandum of understanding for exchange between the KFA and the German professional football club.
Starting in 2024, he served as a coach for the men's under-17 (U-17) national team, leading them to the semifinals of the 2025 AFC U-17 Asian Cup and the round of 32 at the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup. Previously, in 2024, he also served as a coach for the senior national team under the interim head coaches Hwang Sun-hong and Kim Do-hoon.
Coach Lee Jae-hong, who has also coached national teams of various age groups as a KFA physical coach, has experience working with FC Seoul and the Indonesian national team.
He has also experienced the World Cup stage three times, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup North America.
