Actors Kim Young-kwang and Chae Soo-bin will showcase a unique romantic comedy through the new Netflix series "Charge Me Up".
On the 10th, Netflix confirmed the release date of "Charge Me Up" for October 9 and unveiled a fluttering teaser poster and trailer.
Based on the popular web novel of the same name, "Charge Me Up" is a romance disguised as a charging session between a man whose artificial heart battery is running low and a woman with electrical powers. The series is generating anticipation as the first romantic comedy directed by Park Soo-won, who demonstrated witty directing skills in "Work Later, Drink Now Season 2" and "Birthcare Center".
In the series, Kim Young-kwang plays Baek Ho-rang, a chic third-generation chaebol and executive vice president of TS Resort, while Chae Soo-bin plays Na Bo-bae, a drama writer who acquired special electrical powers after being struck by lightning when she was young.
First, the electric chemistry between the two in the teaser poster is intriguing. While the exciting height difference between the two standing side by side catches the eye, pink sparks bloom from their clasped hands. A charging indicator appears above their heads, and a pink switch turns on in Baek Ho-rang's heart as well. In addition, the phrase "Charged upon contact, discharged when apart, and shocked by love!" written next to them raises curiosity about the relationship between Baek Ho-rang and Na Bo-bae.
The released trailer captures unpredictable events that unfold when Na Bo-bae, who used to avoid physical contact with others due to her electrical powers, encounters Baek Ho-rang, a "human rubber glove" who does not get electrocuted even when touching her. After experiencing a miracle where Baek Ho-rang, facing the danger of his artificial heart battery dying due to a hospital blackout on the day of his battery replacement surgery, gets charged next to Na Bo-bae, he proposes a three-month "charging skinship contract" before his re-surgery, setting the stage for a full-fledged spark-filled romance.
The sweet and electrifying K-rom-com "Charge Me Up" starring Kim Young-kwang and Chae Soo-bin will be available on Netflix on October 9.
