Seoul Arena, currently being built as the largest music performance venue in South Korea, has begun its first official venue rental applications to secure a lineup for the second half of 2027.
Seoul Arena announced on the 10th that it is accepting official rental applications for the second half of 2027 from performance agencies and entertainment companies until the 18th. Seoul Arena is being developed as a private-public partnership (BTO) project where Kakao participates as the main investor. Upon completion, ownership of the facility will be transferred to the Seoul Metropolitan Government, while an operating corporation with Kakao holding a stake will manage it for 30 years.
The venue was planned from the design stage as a space specialized for music performances. It features retractable seating to allow flexible configurations depending on the event format, along with seat LED systems linked to performance direction and sound infrastructure.
The seating capacity consists of two types: an arena accommodating up to 28,000 people and a medium-sized performance hall operating at a scale of about 7,000 people. The two venues can also be linked and utilized when necessary, designed to accommodate performances of various scales ranging from global tours and festivals to concerts, fan meetings, and showcases.
Seoul Arena aims to open in the first half of next year and has also been selected as the venue for "2027 FANOMENON," which aspires to be the "Korean-style Coachella." Taking the opportunity of this rental application, the venue plans to actively attract large-scale concerts and global tours while strengthening its support system so that rental companies can prepare performances according to their production schedules.
Oh Ji-hoon, CEO of Seoul Arena, said, "We are preparing to allow artists and production crews to more freely realize the stages they imagine, and to provide audiences with a highly immersive live experience that was previously difficult to experience." He added, "Starting with this official venue rental application, we will work closely with domestic and international performance agencies to present diverse performances that showcase Seoul Arena's unique competitiveness."
Official rental applications are open through the Seoul Arena official rental webpage (partner.seoularena.net) until the 18th.
