Lee Jung-hoo (29) led the San Francisco Giants to a thrilling comeback victory with a clutch game-tying double and the go-ahead run.
Playing in a home game against the St. Louis Cardinals in Major League Baseball (MLB) at Oracle Park in San Francisco, California, today (the 10th), Lee recorded two hits in four at-bats, including a double, with two RBIs and one run scored.
Logging his first multi-hit game in four days, Lee raised his season batting average to 0.281 (142 hits in 505 at-bats).
Starting as the fifth batter and right fielder, Lee singled to left field in the bottom of the 2nd inning.
He was retired on a shortstop groundout in the 4th, and flied out to right field in the bottom of the 7th.
However, Lee stepped up in the late innings with a decisive blow that helped San Francisco turn the game around.
Trailing 6-1, San Francisco closed the gap to 6-4 in the bottom of the 8th with RBI hits from Bryce Eldridge and Jonah Cox.
With two outs and runners on first and second, Lee came to the plate and drove a two-run double over the right fielder's head that bounced directly off the fence, tying the game at 6-6.
Following Lee, Korean-American Shay Whitcomb brought Lee home with a double to center-field, overturning the game.
Sparked by the performances of Lee and Whitcomb, San Francisco scored six runs in the 8th inning alone to defeat St. Louis 7-6, extending their winning streak to three games.
