Management and the labor union of SK Hynix are set to hold another general vote for union members three weeks after the tentative wage and collective agreement was voted down.
The SK Hynix labor union is reportedly scheduled to hold an emergency meeting of representatives on the 10th to explain the tentative agreement, followed by a general vote of union members from the 15th to the 16th.
Details on what has changed from the previous tentative agreement are expected to be revealed at tomorrow's representatives meeting.
Previously, labor and management drew up a tentative agreement that included a 6.3 percent wage increase and the payment of Profit-Sharing (PS) incentives in a 40 percent cash and 60 percent company stock split, but it was voted down by a margin of 25 votes in a union member ballot on the 25th of last month.
Following the rejection of the tentative agreement, labor and management entered into renegotiations, this time aiming for a settlement before the Chuseok holiday.
Kwak Noh-jung, President and CEO of SK Hynix, stated during a communication event with employees on the 3rd regarding matters such as incentive payments, "Last year, we reached a broad agreement, and we will think through the finer details together with our employees," adding, "We will strive to grow together with our employees while maintaining pride."
