Singer and musical actor Jo Kwon expressed his gratitude toward senior actor Kim Hye-soo.
Appearing as a guest on a recently released episode of the YouTube channel Rolling Thunder, Jo Kwon shared, "It was a very difficult time when my mother had to undergo surgery to amputate a toe due to melanoma and my father was diagnosed with rectal cancer while I was serving in the military." He added, "As an only son and a soldier, there was nothing I could do, but senior Kim Hye-soo learned about my situation and told me, 'Kwon, don't worry about money, don't get sick, and be discharged in good health,' providing me with tremendous help during my difficult times."
Jo Kwon first built a connection with Kim Hye-soo through the past KBS drama God of the Workplace. Afterward, Kim Hye-soo has reportedly attended almost all of the musical stages where Jo Kwon performed to cheer him on. Jo Kwon shared that Kim Hye-soo particularly holds his bold ventures across various genres in high regard.
He mentioned that in the musical Priscilla, there is a scene where Jo Kwon descends from the air on a wire, and Kim Hye-soo particularly loved this scene, returning to watch the same performance three or four times.
Jo Kwon also shared that every time Kim Hye-soo attended the show, she never forgot to leave him an affectionate remark saying, "Honey, you did such a great job."
In response, Cho Hye-ryun remarked, "Hye-soo is truly loyal." Cho Hye-ryun also met Kim Hye-soo through the drama Partner and they have remained close friends. Cho Hye-ryun brought laughter by saying, "Kim Hye-soo frequently sent me women's underwear. The front-opening kind was fascinating."
Upon hearing how Kim Hye-soo thoughtfully looked after Jo Kwon during his difficult period dealing with his parents' cancer battles, Cho Hye-ryun expressed empathy by saying, "We are able to endure because we have seniors or colleagues who care for us like that." She added warmth to the atmosphere by mentioning, "Senior Lee Kyung-sil also helped Jung Sun-hee when she was having a hard time. Being able to become each other's strength during difficult and hard times like this is wonderful."
