Prime Minister Han Sung-sook stated, "We will introduce a class action system across all consumer sectors and establish a court order system for businesses to submit data, ensuring practical recovery even when large-scale consumer damages occur."
Making the remarks during her opening speech at the 17th Consumer Policy Committee meeting held at the Government Complex-Seoul today (the 8th), Prime Minister Han said, "We have prepared the 7th Consumer Policy Master Plan, which contains the government's new blueprint for consumer policies."
She further emphasized, "We will build a comprehensive consumer rights protection system with no blind spots."
She also promised, "We will create a consumer environment for everyone that fits the AI and digital era," adding, "We will establish an AI-based market monitoring environment and expand the application of My Data to all sectors to strengthen consumer data sovereignty."
In addition, Prime Minister Han noted, "We will develop user-friendly kiosks so that the digitally vulnerable are not left out of the benefits of innovation."
