Director Christopher Nolan's film "The Odyssey" surpassed 10 million moviegoers on the afternoon of the 6th.
This marks Nolan's second film to reach the 10-million viewer milestone, following "Interstellar," which was released in 2014.

It is the second release this year to achieve the feat, following "The King's Warden."
Nolan is the first foreign director to draw 10 million viewers with two standalone films—rather than a series—following 2014's "Interstellar" and now "The Odyssey."
"The Odyssey" has maintained box office momentum by holding the number one spot continuously since its release.
A craze for special screening formats, including IMAX and 4DX theaters, has been cited as one of the driving forces behind its box office success.
The film has received immense love from audiences in their 20s and 30s who encountered ancient Greek mythology through books and comics in their childhood, while the fact that viewers can fully enjoy the movie without prior knowledge of the mythology has also played a role in attracting a diverse audience.
