The SSG Landers defeated the Doosan Bears for the second consecutive day, halting Doosan's urgent push.
SSG secured a 3-2 victory, powered by Jeon Eui-san's home run in the 2026 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League held at Incheon SSG Landers Field.
With two consecutive wins, the 8th-place SSG has set its sights on climbing the standings, while the 5th-place Doosan fell into a five-game losing streak, making its postseason berth precarious.
The protagonist of the victory was Jeon Eui-san.
Having hit back-to-back home runs the previous day, Jeon propelled his team to victory by launching the game-winning home run on this day as well.
Doosan, which started Choe Min-seok—the leader in wins—took the first lead in the top of the 4th inning when Kim Min-seok, who advanced on a double, scored home following a wild pitch.
However, SSG turned the game around with a single blow after switching sides.
After Park Seong-han hit a single to center and Guillermo Heredia drew a walk, Jeon Eui-san smashed a 3-run home run over the left-center fence, instantly flipping the score to 3-1.
This marks Jeon's 10th home run of the season, joining the team late after being discharged from the Sangmu military baseball team in early June.
Doosan clawed back a run in the top of the 5th inning with an RBI single by Kim Min-seok, but failed to turn the tables in the end.
SSG starting pitcher Kim Min-seok pitched 6 innings, striking out 5 while allowing 4 hits and 3 walks, but limited the damage to 2 runs to become the winning pitcher.
Doosan's Choe Min-seok gave up only 3 hits through 6 innings, but allowed 3 runs on a single home run, taking the loss.
Meanwhile, SSG playing coach Kim Seong-hyun, who held his retirement ceremony on this day, was registered on the special retirement player roster and started as the leadoff hitter and first baseman.
Coach Kim caught Yang Eui-ji's fly ball directly in defense in the top of the 1st inning, and in the bottom of the 1st, stepped up as the leadoff batter, striking out after an 8-pitch battle against Choe Min-seok before being substituted for Jeong Jun-jae in the top of the 2nd.
