Solo artist Jang Haneum is making waves on local social media following a translation mishap while using a Chinese shopping mall.

Jang recently shared an anecdote through a fan communication platform about an experience she had while using a Chinese shopping platform. While purchasing a tactile sensory toy, a popular item among teens and those in their twenties, she conversed with customer service. During the exJange, a friendly Chinese expression used to address customers was mistranslated into Korean as a request for a kiss.

In response, Jang told fans, "I was a bit flustered when they suddenly asked to kiss." The story quickly spread from South Korea to major Chinese social platforms. Despite occurring without any separate promotions or marketing, the incident surpassed 50 million views on Chinese social media and landed near the top of real-time search trends, drawing explosive attention.

Local internet users left comments such as, "Her flustered reaction is so cute" and "The situation caused by the translation error is so funny." Following this hap, Jang's name became ingrained among the general public beyond her existing fandom, leading to an influx of new overseas fans.

Meanwhile, Jang is expanding her scope of activities on the global stage, including in China, spurred by this recent buzz.
