A large fire broke out at a factory in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province, yesterday evening (September 2), prompting nearby residents to evacuate.

Bright red flames blaze fiercely through the trees.
Water is sprayed, but the intensity of the flames does not easily subside.
Dozens of reports came pouring in at around 7 p.m. yesterday regarding a fire at an eyewear component manufacturing factory in Eunhyeon-myeon, Yangju, Gyeonggi Province.
Fire authorities mobilized some 50 personnel and about 20 pieces of equipment to extinguish the blaze in an hour and 20 minutes.
No one was injured in the fire, but some nearby residents evacuated. The interior of the factory burned, causing an estimated 79 million won in property damage according to fire officials.

The front end of a large cargo truck is severely crushed.
Piles of spilled canned beer and plastic bottles lie scattered across the road.
At around 9:50 p.m. yesterday, near the Chungju Interchange on the Jungbu Inland Expressway, a large cargo truck driven by a 62-year-old man surnamed A crashed into a vehicle parked for road maintenance work.
Two people, including driver A, were injured in the accident and received hospital treatment, but they are reportedly not in life-threatening condition.
Due to the impact of the crash, beverages such as beer loaded on the truck spilled onto the road, turning the area into chaos, and vehicle traffic was temporarily suspended during the cleanup process.
Police believe the accident was not caused by drunk driving.

At around 9:10 p.m. yesterday, in Namgok-ri, Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon Province, a vehicle driven by a driver in their 60s broke through a guardrail and plunged 10 meters down.
The driver was seriously injured in the accident and transported to the hospital.
Police are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
