Labor and management at Samsung Biologics, who have been at odds over issues such as wage increases and personnel system improvements, will enter into post-adjustment next week.
The Samsung Biologics labor union announced today (Sept. 1) that "post-adjustment is scheduled to take place on September 8," adding, "Since the company has stated it will submit a proposal once the process begins, we expect the adjustment to gain momentum."
The union elaborated, "A meeting was held yesterday between the Jungbu Regional Employment and Labor Administration and management, and it was agreed that the Incheon Regional Labor Relations Commission would help bring forward the schedule for post-adjustment."
However, the union noted that this is a tentative schedule and that they are currently coordinating the detailed schedules of the committee members.
Labor and management at Samsung Biologics applied for post-adjustment on August 14, marking the entry into adjustment after about a month.
Post-adjustment is a procedure conducted again with the mutual consent of both labor and management to resolve a labor dispute after the initial adjustment process has ended.
The procedure begins only when both labor and management agree, with the Labor Relations Commission playing a mediating role.
After negotiations with management broke down on March 23, the Samsung Biologics labor union staged a partial strike in late April followed by a full strike from May 1 to 5, and has since continued a compliance struggle by refusing overtime and weekend work.
