Special Prosecutor Lee Tae-han, leading the investigation into the ballot paper shortage and other issues from the June 3 local elections, has announced plans to receive all 20 dispatched prosecutors by September 7.
Through a press notice today (August 31), Special Prosecutor Lee stated, "With one deputy senior prosecutor and one prosecutor arriving for work additionally today, a total of five dispatched prosecutors are currently on duty," outlining these plans.
To date, the prosecutors dispatched to the special counsel team consist of one senior prosecutor, one deputy senior prosecutor, and three junior prosecutors.
Following the effective conclusion of the National Assembly's Special Committee on State Administration Investigation today, the special counsel team sent an official request to the National Election Commission asking to preserve the current status of the vote-counting station inside Olympic Park.
The team also received all investigation records from the joint prosecution-police investigation headquarters and began reviewing the documents alongside the dispatched prosecutors.
The special counsel team stated, "After reviewing the records, we will establish an investigation plan and launch a full-scale investigation simultaneously with the official commencement of the special counsel's operations on September 7."
