Rain is falling nationwide today.

As a stationary front develops, rain clouds are currently concentrated mainly in the central and North Jeolla regions.

In particular, hot and humid air is fueling even stronger rain clouds over the North Jeolla region, with intense rain of around 40mm per hour pouring down in Gunsan.

Accordingly, heavy rain advisories have been issued, centered around parts of the western coast of Jeolla and South Chungcheong Province.

These advisories are expected to expand further as the strong rain clouds move toward the central regions.

The rain will continue throughout today.

In the southern regions and Jeju, the rain will gradually stop by tonight.

In the central regions, it will continue until tomorrow.

Looking at the expected precipitation over the two days, heavy downpours of over 200mm are expected in South Chungcheong Province, over 150mm in North Chungcheong Province, and over 120mm in southern Gyeonggi Province, the inland areas of central and southern Gangwon Province, and western Jeolla Province.

Seoul will also see heavy rain of up to 80mm.

When it rains, it will be accompanied by gusty winds, thunder, and lightning.

Some areas may experience extremely heavy rain exceeding 50mm per hour.

Thorough preparations must be made to prevent rain damage.

Heatwave advisories for the central regions have been lifted, but advisories remain in effect mainly across the southern regions.

Today's daytime high in Seoul will reach 26°C (79°F), giving a break from the heat.

However, centering on the southern regions under heat advisories, Busan's daytime high will reach 34°C (93°F), and with high humidity, the perceived temperature will be even higher.

The heat in the central regions will subside for the time being.

Sweltering heat will continue in the southern regions.
