President Lee Jae-myung has carried out a medium-scale cabinet reshuffle, replacing or newly appointing ministers across six ministries, including the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and the Ministry of Justice. Representative Kim Seung-won of the Democratic Party has been nominated as the Minister of Justice, and First Vice Minister Lee Hyung-il of Economy and Finance has been nominated as the Minister of Economy and Finance.

President Lee Jae-myung newly nominated a total of six ministerial candidates today (August 30), including the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, the Minister of Justice, the Minister of National Defense, the Minister of Gender Equality and Family, the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and the Minister of SMEs and Startups.
Representative Kim Seung-won of the Democratic Party, a two-term lawmaker and former judge, was selected as the candidate for Minister of Justice, a position left vacant following the resignation of former Minister Jeong Seong-ho.

Current First Vice Minister of Economy and Finance Lee Hyung-il was nominated as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, current Second Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Hong Ji-sun was named as the candidate for Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and Democratic Party Representative Lee So-young was nominated as the Minister of SMEs and Startups.
Former Deputy Commander of the ROK-US Combined Forces Command Kang Shin-chul was selected as the candidate for Minister of National Defense, and Basic Income Party Representative Yong Hye-in was chosen as the candidate for Minister of Gender Equality and Family.

Personnel changes among some presidential aides were also made.
Representative Lee Hae-min of the Rebuilding Korea Party was appointed as the Senior Presidential Secretary for AI Future Planning, and Lee Won-joo, head of the Energy Transition Policy Office at the Ministry of Climate and Energy, was appointed as the Presidential Advisor for Mega Projects to lead the so-called three major mega projects.
Ha Jung-woo, former Senior Presidential Secretary for AI Future Planning, was selected as the Vice Chairperson of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy Committee, and former South Gyeongsang Provincial Governor Kim Kyung-soo was chosen as the Special Presidential Advisor for Political Affairs.
