Fears are growing over a potential second flood in the border region between Nepal and China, which was struck by a devastating flood disaster. With glaciers and rock debris still piled up in the upper reaches, there is no telling when they might burst open again. Today (the 28th), an additional flood warning was actually issued for the disaster area, prompting recovery personnel and our reporting team to urgently evacuate.

In the Trishuli area of Nuwakot District, Nepal, which suffered the heaviest damage from this flood, an alarm suddenly sounds at noon today as recovery work is in full swing.

An urgent evacuation order was issued not only to heavy machinery and recovery workers, but also to everyone, including the reporting team.

Residents who had revisited the damaged area also hurriedly ran toward higher ground, and a resident staying in a house that narrowly missed the damage from the massive flood three days ago evacuated while struggling to guide a family member with restricted mobility.
Far from being able to conduct recovery and search operations, the disaster victims, startled by the secondary flood warning, are utterly dismayed.

About two hours after the evacuation notice, torrents of water and earth that rushed down from the mountain surged into the riverbed of the Trishuli area, and the river water level was observed rising.
Due to concerns over additional floods, police are controlling the disaster area by removing all remaining people.
It is reported that debris blocking the waterways on the Chinese Tibetan side of the Nepal-China border region collapsed, causing the pooled water to overflow and rush down the valley once again.
As evacuation orders were issued in advance this time, there are no reports of casualties yet.
