The development project for National Land Satellites 3 and 4 has passed the preliminary feasibility study.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced yesterday (the 25th) that it held the 7th Fiscal Investment Evaluation Committee, chaired by Vice Minister Cho Yong-beom, and approved the preliminary feasibility study pass for a total of five projects.
The National Land Satellites 3 and 4 development project involves manufacturing, launching, and operating two high-resolution satellites.
The government expects that utilizing satellite imagery will support national land management, build and provide spatial information, and promote related industries and research and development.
The Daegu-Gyeongbuk metropolitan railway construction project also crossed the preliminary feasibility threshold.
This project involves constructing a metropolitan railway connecting Seodaegu Station in Daegu to Uiseong Station in Gyeongbuk. The government expects it to enhance inter-regional transportation convenience and contribute to regional economic revitalization.
The project to establish the Busan National University Hospital Region-Complete Global Hub Medical Center, which involves renovating aging buildings within the Busan National University Hospital site and reconfiguring major facilities, has also passed the preliminary feasibility study.
Additionally included in the projects that passed the preliminary feasibility study are the "Youth First-Ever Pension Premium Support" project, which provides the first month of pension insurance premiums to applicants aged 18 to 26 with no national pension contribution history, and the "Support for Community-Based Independence of Persons with Disabilities" project, which supports facility-residing and home-dwelling persons with disabilities who wish to live independently.
Four projects were selected as candidates for preliminary feasibility studies.
The Byeollae Line (Line 8) extension metropolitan railway project, connecting Byeollae Station and the Jinjeop Line (Byeollae Byeolgaram Station), was selected as a preliminary feasibility study candidate.
Other projects selected as preliminary feasibility study candidates include a project to establish a general hospital-level industrial accident-dedicated hospital equipped with treatment and rehabilitation functions in Iksan, North Jeolla Province; the Ulsan Munsu Bypass congestion road improvement project; and a low-carbon agriculture program that encourages farm households to participate in reducing carbon emissions.
Meanwhile, the committee finalized the results of the comprehensive preliminary feasibility study for establishing the 6th National Highway and National-Local Road Construction Plan.
This is a procedure to select target projects to be included in the five-year nationwide national highway and local-national road construction plan established by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. Out of a total of 142 projects, 54 passed the preliminary feasibility study.
