SEVENTEEN member VERNON, who holds dual South Korean and U.S. citizenship, has released a new single on the day of his military training center entry.

VERNON entered the training center on August 20 to receive basic military training and will serve as a public service worker. Born to a South Korean father and an American mother, VERNON is known to hold dual citizenship in South Korea and the United States.

Amidst this, VERNON is meeting fans by releasing his new single "I'll Be Back" at 6 p.m. today. The song is an electronic track with pop sensitivities, which was first revealed live and gained a positive response at '2026 VERNON THE 8 [V8] LIVE' last July. VERNON directly participated in writing and composing the lyrics, melting sincere messages for fans into the lyrical track.

VERNON has been recognized for his broad musical spectrum by releasing various solo tracks, such as "Mia" from his V8 1st mini-album, "Shining Star (VERNON Solo)" from SEVENTEEN's 5th full-length album, and the mixtape "Black Eye". In addition, he has continued active creative endeavors, such as leading the production of the V8 album alongside The8 and collaborating with prominent domestic and international artists.

Previously, his agency Pledis Entertainment announced his military service schedule, stating, "Please refrain from visiting the training camp entrance and his alternative service workplace," and adding, "We ask for your continued love and support from CARAT so that VERNON can faithfully fulfill his military service and return in better health."

VERNON's expected discharge date is May 19, 2028.
