Actor Hong Min-ki has been swept up in allegations of dating violence.
Influencer A, who has 20,000 followers, posted disclosures targeting Hong Min-ki via Instagram Stories early in the morning on August 19, along with a certified copy of mail sent through a law firm.
The released certified mail was dated July 28 and titled "Notice of Warning Regarding Legal Action for Illegal and Criminal Acts." The document claims that Hong Min-ki threw a dangerous object at Influencer A and subjected her to physical assault and threats.
According to claims from Influencer A's side, Hong Min-ki engaged in dangerous behavior by throwing and shattering a soju bottle toward Influencer A on the street, and made about 40 phone calls suspecting that she was cheating with another man. It was also reported that during a subsequent meeting, he made threatening remarks such as, "I was going to kill you both if I found you," and "I'm going to kill that bastard."
The certified mail also specifies circumstances indicating that Hong Min-ki committed assault by forcefully striking Influencer A's shoulders with his hands, pushing her, and grabbing her by the neck.
In addition, Influencer A stated that Hong Min-ki infringed upon her privacy by secretly viewing her mobile phone and KakaoTalk messages. Furthermore, she claimed that he caused her severe injuries by driving an e-scooter while under the influence with her riding along, resulting in an accident, and stated that photographs of the related injuries exist.
After releasing the certified mail, Influencer A additionally posted a photo of Hong Min-ki and stated, "This is the person from the previous story," directly pointing to Hong Min-ki as the subject of the disclosure.
However, these allegations are unilateral claims raised by Influencer A's side through the certified mail. In response to Influencer A's claims, Hong Min-ki's agency, Fable Company, stated, "We are organizing our stance. We plan to release an official position soon."
Since his debut in 2020, Hong Min-ki has appeared in works such as "Night Has Come," "Love Your Enemy," "Study Group," "Bani and Brothers," "Trigger," "Dear X Who Doesn't Love Me," and "Doctor Sombo," and is awaiting the release of "Study Group Season 2."
