▲ Fire at a plastic factory in Pyeongtaek
A fire broke out at a plastic manufacturing factory in Cheongbuk-eup, Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, at around midnight today (August 19), and was extinguished after about four hours.
No one was injured in the fire, but two buildings, including a single-story factory and a warehouse, were burned down.
Fire authorities mobilized 40 pieces of equipment and 100 personnel to bring the major flames under control at around 3:40 a.m. and completely extinguished the remaining fires at around 4:50 a.m.
It was reported that firefighting efforts took time because a large amount of flammable materials, such as thinner, were stored inside the warehouse.
Fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
