SBS's "Goal Hitters" is set to feature an intense battle for the final ticket to the 2nd GIFA Cup final.
The upcoming semifinal match between FC Top Girl Movement and FC Balladream will air at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19.
This marks FC Balladream's return to the semifinals in about three years and FC Top Girl Movement's in about two years. The two teams will temporarily put their friendship aside for a high-stakes showdown to claim the last remaining spot in the final.
In particular, the fierce psychological warfare between managers Baek Ji-hoon and Lee Keun-ho, who are close friends born in 1985, is drawing attention. The two turned from best friends into fierce rivals, spying on each other's training sessions and engaging in a pride-fueled "commute race" on match day where they declared, "Whoever arrives first wins," bringing laughter to the set.
The players' determination is equally fierce. Top Girl's Lee Seung-yeon and Balladream's Seo-gi, well-known best friends on the show, threw down the gauntlet, declaring, "We won't go easy on each other just because we're friends." Expectations are also running high for a direct ace-to-ace matchup between Balladream's core duo "Gyeong-Seogi" (Gyeong-seo & Seo-gi) and Top Girl's newly emerging powerhouse firepower "Lee Yu-jung & Lee Seung-yeon".
The fierce semifinal match between the two teams, who have temporarily set aside their friendship, will be unveiled on "Goal Hitters," airing at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19.
