A teenager has been arrested after attempting to enter his girlfriend's home by having police officers responding to a report lead the way.
He was hiding a weapon in his pocket.
The Seoul Gangdong Police Station arrested A (16), a male, red-handed on charges including trespassing at an apartment in Gangdong-gu at 11:00 PM on August 14.
Investigations showed that he targeted his girlfriend's father because he believed the father had threatened him to prevent him from dating his daughter.
A called the police, claiming, "My girlfriend's father told me he would kill me if I came looking for him one more time," and "My girlfriend appears to be getting beaten by her father."
He is accused of moving together with the dispatched police officers and attempting to enter the residence.
A attempted trespassing after deceiving the police officers into guiding them by stating something to the effect of, "Since it's a corridor-style apartment, I need to show you the specific apartment unit number."
However, when entry into the residence was blocked, A pulled out a weapon concealed in his trouser pocket and threatened people around him.
In response, three police officers grabbed his arms and torso inside a narrow elevator, disarmed the weapon, and subdued A.
It was understood that police blocked A from entering the residence suspecting that the incident might escalate beyond an initial domestic violence response into a relationship-related crime.
Investigations revealed that A had procured the weapon by committing a theft at an unmanned store just before making the report.
