Extreme downpours were concentrated in the Yeongnam region during the holiday.
Geoje experienced record-breaking heavy rain of over 100mm per hour.
Since the rain began, nearly 1,000mm of heavy precipitation has been recorded so far.
Rain clouds are currently still lingering, mainly centered around parts of Gyeongnam and Jeju.
A heavy rain advisory has also been issued for the Jeju region.
Fortunately, most of the rain is expected to let up by this morning, but it will continue into the afternoon in Jeju.
Looking at the expected precipitation, southern regions will see anywhere from 5 to 40mm, the southern coast of Gyeongnam from 10 up to 50mm, and Jeju will see an additional 10 to 60mm of rain.
From this afternoon through tonight, atmospheric instability may bring sudden, noisy showers to various places, so you should make sure to carry a small umbrella.
Heat wave advisories have been reissued for parts of the Honam region.
Today (August 18), the perceived temperature will rise above 33 degrees Celsius in most areas, making it very hot and humid.
