KakaoBank announced today (August 17) that it plans to cancel 270,000 of its treasury shares to enhance shareholder value.
As of the end of June, KakaoBank held a total of 532,334 treasury shares.
The company plans to cancel 270,000 of these shares within the legal deadline, while using the remaining 262,334 shares for employee compensation.
The number of shares subject to cancellation and disposal is subject to change during the subsequent procedural process.
KakaoBank plans to formulate a treasury share holding and disposal plan containing specific details regarding the retention and disposal of its treasury shares, and seek approval at the regular shareholders' meeting in 2027.
A KakaoBank official stated, "Through the cancellation of treasury shares, we will enhance shareholder value, and use the remaining shares for employee compensation to contribute to the company's sustained growth and corporate value enhancement."
