Forward Kim Min-su, born in 2006, has successfully concluded his loan stint and will play as a first-team player for the Spanish professional football club Girona for the 2026–2027 season.
Girona announced on the 13th (local time) that "Kim Min-su and Justin Garcia (22) are scheduled to be registered as first-team players for the 2026–2027 season," adding that "these two young players will officially join the squad led by manager Quique Alvarez."
Kim Min-su is an attacking resource whose primary position is winger, and he can also play as a striker.
Having joined Girona's youth team in the summer of 2022, Kim made his debut with the B team in October of that year and gradually established himself as a key player for the squad.
While building his adaptability to the European stage with Girona's B team competing in Spain's fifth tier, he rarely joined the first team due to league regulations allowing a maximum of three non-EU players to be registered in the first-team squad.
After extending his contract with Girona until 2027 in August 2024, he received a call-up to the first team in October 2024 amid a series of injuries to key players, finally making his La Liga (first division) debut as a 72nd-minute substitute in a home match against Real Sociedad for the 10th round of the 2024–2025 season.
It was the 8th appearance by a South Korean player in the Spanish top flight.
Kim subsequently made his UEFA Champions League (UCL) debut as a 78th-minute substitute in an away match against PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands) for the 4th matchday of the UCL league phase held in November of that year.
However, opportunities given to him remained limited thereafter.
Ultimately finishing the season with 3 La Liga appearances, 2 Copa del Rey matches, and 1 UCL appearance, Kim was loaned to La Liga 2 side Andorra in July of last year in search of more playing time.
Following his loan move, Kim posted 1 goal and 2 assists in 3 matches in August of last year, earning a nomination for Player of the Month.
He delivered an impressive performance last season with Andorra, making 40 appearances in La Liga 2 and recording 6 goals and 4 assists.
Now returning to Girona, Kim has been officially registered with the first team to face the new season.
Girona finished 19th in La Liga last season and was relegated to La Liga 2.
