The film "Odyssey" has grossed $1.1 billion worldwide, making it Christopher Nolan's highest-grossing film of all time.
Following the movie's box office success, scalped tickets for IMAX screenings are running rampant.
"Odyssey" recorded $1.1048 billion globally, which translates to over 1.5 trillion Korean won in box office revenue.
This figure surpasses the $1.08 billion earned by "The Dark Knight Rises," which was previously Christopher Nolan's highest-grossing film.
"Odyssey" continues its box office run, having accumulated over 2.13 million viewers in South Korea alone.
As it was filmed using IMAX film cameras, the Yongsan CGV IMAX theater—the only screening room in the country to fully implement the original aspect ratio—has been selling out day after day.
Scalping for IMAX tickets is also running rampant.
Listings on second-hand trading platforms are reselling tickets at prices far exceeding the original retail value, such as asking nearly 300,000 won for two seats, which is becoming a growing problem.
