Morning Chill Gives Way to Daytime Heat; Rain Expected Along East Coast

The morning air feels even cooler than yesterday (the 11th).

Currently, the temperature in Seoul is 21.5°C (71°F), which is about 3 degrees lower than yesterday morning, while Gyeryong in South Chungcheong Province records 17.7°C (64°F), dropping by around 5 degrees compared to yesterday.

Looking at current temperatures in detail, Chuncheon starts at 17°C (63°F) and Daegu at 18.9°C (66°F), with most regions beginning the day around 20°C (68°F).

However, strong sunlight will push temperatures up during the day, bringing hot and humid weather once again, centered mainly around the western regions.

This afternoon, Jeonju is expected to rise to 33°C (91°F) and Seoul to 32°C (90°F), while Gangneung will stay at 25°C (77°F), remaining cool throughout the day.

Meanwhile, influenced by easterly winds, between 20 and 60 mm of rain is expected in the east coast regions through the day after tomorrow. In the South Gyeongsang region, where drought is severe, 10 to 40 mm of much-needed rain is expected tomorrow.

Nationwide skies will be partly cloudy today.

Strong swells are expected along coastal areas for the time being, so it is advised to refrain from approaching the coast.
