Actor Kim Ji-won has exerted a positive influence for sick children.
On August 10, Seoul National University Children's Hospital announced that Kim donated 100 million won in sponsorship funds on August 7 to support ward environment improvement projects and medical expenses for low-income patients.
This donation is expected to be used to ease the financial burden of medical treatment for young patients with severe, rare, and intractable diseases and their families who come from all over the country, allowing them to receive treatment in a safer and more pleasant environment.
Kim shared, "While filming the drama 'Doctor X', I came to closely witness the stories of the medical staff working hard and the sick children, which led me to decide on this donation. I truly want to convey my heartfelt gratitude and support to the medical staff working hard in the field, as well as the young patients and their families."
Chae Jong-hee, director of Seoul National University Children's Hospital, expressed deep gratitude, saying, "We will put the sponsorship to good use to help young patient families struggling with the burden of medical expenses and to ensure that children coming to the hospital with hope from all over the country can focus on their treatment in a safe and friendly space."
Kim is gearing up for her small-screen return in the new SBS Friday-Saturday drama "Doctor X: The Age of the White Mafia", scheduled to air in the second half of this year, playing the lead role of genius doctor Gye Su-jeong.
