Jang Dong-hyeok Rebuts Ruling Party on ISA Policy Review: "The Day May Come When You Relocate Party HQ in Abandoned Buses"

People Power Party Representative Jang Dong-hyeok has fired back at a remark by Democratic Party Floor Leader Han Byung-do regarding the Lee Jae-myung administration's decision to re-examine the Individual Savings Account (ISA) policy from scratch.

During a previous floor strategy meeting, Floor Leader Han stated, "The People Power Party is pouring out reckless remarks and criticism against the instruction to re-examine the policy. Are you saying that a policy once set must be pushed through even when the public points out problems?"

Later, Representative Jang took to his social media, writing, "I will point out just three things," and detailed his arguments.

First, Representative Jang asked, "It is the duty of the government and the ruling party to meticulously prepare policies in the first place so that the public does not have to point out problems. Do you feel no remorse even after hastily rolling out policies that ignite public anger and causing chaos?"

Second, Representative Jang questioned, "From the stripping of supplementary investigation powers, the integration of military academies, and stock market policies, to the Yellow Envelope Act, more than half, and in some cases over 60 percent, of the public are demanding policy revisions. Why do you push those through claiming they were once decided?"

Third, Representative Jang pointed out, "Claiming you cannot do it because the People Power Party does not cooperate on real estate supply policies? Until now, the Democratic Party has railroaded numerous bad laws at will without even deliberation. And now you need opposition cooperation only for real estate bills? It is laughable."

He added, "President Lee Jae-myung and the Democratic Party still do not understand the cause of public anger," and warned, "The day will soon come when you will have to move your party headquarters in abandoned buses."
