Village Bus Crashes Into Building in Seoul, Injuring 8; Tourist Boat Capsizes in Yeosu

Last night, a village bus crashed into a building in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, injuring eight people. Earlier today, a tourist boat carrying a family overturned off the coast of Yeosu, South Jeolla Province, leaving two people found in cardiac arrest.

The iron door of a shop is severely dented, and the glass window of the adjacent store is shattered to pieces.

At around 8:00 PM yesterday, an accident occurred in an alley in Hongje-dong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, where a village bus plunged into a building.

Authorities determined that the bus struck a passenger car at a nearby intersection, drove about 100 meters into the alley, and finally came to a halt after successively crashing into a taxi, a streetlamp, another passenger car, and a building.

The accident left eight people injured, including a woman in her 50s passing through the alley who sustained serious injuries.

The bus driver in his 70s reportedly stated during police questioning that the brakes failed after the initial collision.

Police have booked Mr. Lee on charges of professional negligence resulting in injury under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Settlement of Traffic Accidents and are investigating the exact cause of the accident.

The Coast Guard cuts through the water to approach a woman.

At around 9:55 AM today, a report was received that a motorboat had capsized off the waters of Odongdo in Yeosu, South Jeolla Province.

A total of five people were on board the vessel, including the captain and a family of four.

Immediately after the accident, three family members were rescued safely, but the captain in his 60s and his daughter in her 20s were found in cardiac arrest.
