The Korea Football Association (KFA) has issued an official apology regarding the recent controversies surrounding referee entertainment and promised reform.
The KFA stated today, "We deeply apologize for causing concern due to various issues related to the association, including the police search and reports of sexual entertainment that took place over a decade ago."
Having already faced a police search over controversies surrounding the appointment of former national team head coach Hong Myung-bo, the KFA recently found itself at the center of controversy following reports that foreign referees who officiated World Cup and Olympic qualifiers held in South Korea for two years starting in 2011 were provided with sexual entertainment.
The association added, "We will engrave the criticisms and rebukes in our hearts and use this as an opportunity for reform."
