▲ Fire at a dyeing factory in Yangju
A fire broke out at a textile factory in Bongyang-dong, Yangju, Gyeonggi Province, at around 6:10 PM today (August 6).
The fire left four people injured, including a woman in her 60s who was transported to a hospital after inhaling smoke and three others who sustained abrasions.
Authorities have confirmed that all six people who were inside the factory evacuated on their own.
Fire authorities deployed 26 vehicles and 65 personnel to battle the blaze. The fire completely destroyed one factory building and is reportedly spreading to nearby structures.
The factory reportedly stores 200 liters of hydrogen peroxide and 250 kilograms of sodium hydroxide.
Police and fire authorities plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire once the flames are fully extinguished.
