Bae In-gyu (35), the far-right YouTuber and head of New Men's Solidarity, was found dead after falling from his home in Yeongjongdo, Jung-gu, Incheon, at around 8 a.m. today. He was 36 years old.
According to police, officers responding to a 112 emergency call from an apartment resident reporting that someone had collapsed found Bae dead at the scene. No suicide note was found at the scene. Bae was reportedly discovered at the home he shared with his girlfriend.
A police official stated, "We are looking into the exact circumstances of his death, and there are currently no signs of foul play." Based on CCTV footage and other evidence from the scene, police believe there is no criminal involvement and plan to request an autopsy from the National Forensic Service to determine the exact cause of death. Bae's body has been placed in the mortuary at Inha University Hospital, and a funeral parlor has not yet been arranged.
Bae had been under police investigation on charges of administering methamphetamine (philopon), a narcotic, at a motel in Jung-gu, Incheon, on May 24 of last year, in violation of the Narcotics Control Act. A forensic analysis by the National Forensic Service tested positive for narcotics, and Bae reportedly admitted to the charges during the investigation. Following the conclusion of the investigation, police forwarded Bae to the prosecution without detention.
Bae served as the head of New Men's Solidarity, an organization advocating anti-feminism. Following the December 3 emergency martial law situation in 2024, he was known to have led rallies opposing the impeachment of former President Yoon Suk Yeol. In addition, he was subjected to a search and seizure earlier today in connection with the occupation of the Seoul Western District Court that occurred on January 19, and after deleting all videos posted on his channel following the enforcement of the Act on Eradicating False and Fabricated Information on the 7th of last month, he resumed activities by uploading political content again, including a video criticizing entertainer Lee Su-ji.
Bae shared a son with his ex-wife Song Si-in, and announced their divorce in May 2004. Previously, in 2018, he was sentenced to a fine of 2 million won on charges of assaulting Song and inflicting bodily injury.
