Today, the daytime high in Seoul is expected to reach 38°C (100°F), marking the hottest day of the year so far.
Jeonju is expected to see a daytime high of 39°C (102°F), with extreme heat gripping the western regions.
The heatwave is expected to continue throughout the entire week.

Additionally, ozone concentrations, which are harmful to the respiratory system, will also run high.
Today, ozone concentrations will spike to bad levels in the Seoul metropolitan area, South Chungcheong Province, the Honam region, and South Gyeongsang Province.
From the afternoon into the evening, sudden and heavy showers are expected mainly in southern Gyeonggi Province, Chungcheong, the Honam region, inland areas of the Yeongnam region, and mountainous areas of Jeju Island.
Rain is forecast tomorrow and the day after, centered around the mountainous areas of Jeju Island.
