24-year-old compatriots Lee Tae-seok and Lee Kang-hee both played the full 90 minutes for Austria Wien, but their team suffered a heavy defeat in the opening match of the 2026-2027 Austrian Bundesliga.
Austria Wien lost 0–3 to Wolfsberger AC (WAC) in their away match for the 1st round of the 2026-2027 Austrian Bundesliga, held at the Lavanttal Arena in Wolfsberg, Austria, on August 3 (Korean time).
Lee Tae-seok and Lee Kang-hee started as left wing-back and center-back, respectively, in Austria Wien's 3-4-3 formation and played the full 90 minutes, but they could not prevent the team's defeat.
Austria Wien conceded the opening goal just 18 minutes into the first half when WAC striker Giacomo Brioni converted a penalty. They nearly allowed another goal in the 21st minute, but a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review detected a foul committed against Lee Tae-seok right before the shot, leading to the goal being disallowed and allowing the team to breathe a sigh of relief.
Austria Wien conceded a second goal to WAC's Aron Sky Schwarz five minutes into the second half, and fell further behind at 0–3 after allowing Brioni his second penalty of the match in the 18th minute of the second half.
Austria Wien had to swallow the bitter taste of defeat as Lee Kang-hee's shot hit the goalpost in the 43rd minute of the second half.
