According to the Korea Railroad Corporation (Korail) today (August 1), two elementary school students unlawfully trespassed onto the tracks between Byeongjeom Station and Seryu Station on the northbound Gyeongbu Line around 7:30 p.m. to take photographs.
Following a report by the engineer of a passing train, a Byeongjeom Station official arrived at the scene within about 10 minutes, safely removed the students from the tracks, and handed them over to the Railway Special Judicial Police.
The incident caused delays of approximately 10 minutes for three subsequent trains.
A Korail official urged caution, stating, "Trains are currently operating normally. Trespassing on tracks is dangerous, and disrupting train operations can result in punishment under the Railroad Safety Act."
