South Korean golfer Yu Ha-ran took the sole lead in the second round of the LPGA Tour major tournament, the AIG Women's Open, cruising smoothly toward the milestone achievement of three consecutive major victories.
Starting the day in second place, two strokes behind the leader, Yu dropped two shots through the 8th hole, but completely turned the momentum around on the par-3 9th hole.
She landed her tee shot within one meter of the pin for a birdie and followed up with a consecutive birdie on the 10th hole to make up for lost strokes.
Later, she reduced her score by two more strokes, including a long-range birdie putt on the 15th hole, moving to 7-under-par and taking the sole lead by one stroke.
If Yu, who secured victories in the previous two major tournaments, claims the top spot in this event, she will achieve the historic milestone of three straight major wins, becoming the third player in history to do so and the first in 13 years since Park In-bee.
