Today, July 31st, marks the final day of July, and a severe heatwave warning remains in effect, primarily centered around the Gyeongnam region. Yangsan, which exceeded 40°C for two consecutive days, is expected to see temperatures soar to 40°C (104°F) again today, bringing extreme heat.
Looking at regional daytime temperatures in detail, Changwon and Busan will climb up to 39°C (102°F), while Seoul, Daejeon, and Jeonju will see highs around 34°C (93°F), similar to yesterday.
As westerly winds continue to blow through the weekend, heat will accumulate mainly in the eastern regions.
Starting next week, however, wind patterns will shift to easterlies, driving temperatures higher in western regions, with Seoul's daytime high expected to reach 37°C (99°F).
Residents in the Gangwon and Honam regions should watch out for dense fog until the morning, and ozone concentrations are expected to be high in the mid-west and southern regions during the afternoon.
Additionally, strong winds will continue in the east coast region through tomorrow.
Current temperatures show Seoul at 25.9°C (79°F) and Gangneung at 28.9°C (84°F), with tropical nights expected in most areas overall.
