Mixing his signature changeup and sweeper, KT starter Ko Young-pyo kept NC batters completely off balance.
Ko struck out the first four batters he faced to start the game and racked up 10 strikeouts in total across 7 scoreless innings of dominant pitching.
Bolstered by Kim Hyun-soo, who marked his 5th career 1,300th run in KBO League history with his 7th home run of the season, KT claimed a 10-0 shutout win against NC.
Doosan's Park Jun-soon, who allowed SSG to take the early lead in the 1st inning by missing an ordinary grounder to second base, made up for the error with a decisive extra-base hit.
Tied 1-1 in the top of the 10th inning, he launched a go-ahead solo home run over the left-field wall off a low slider from SSG's Moon Seung-won.
Taking a 2-1 victory, Doosan jumped one spot above KIA to claim 4th place.
LG defeated Kiwoom, driven by the strong performance of Moon Jung-bin.
Leading 2-1 in the 5th inning, Moon drove a fastball from Jeon Jun-pyo the other way for his first double-digit home run in his 5th year since pro debut, and followed up with a go-ahead RBI single in the 7th inning with the score tied 3-3, leading his team to a 5-3 victory.
Samsung, racking up 7 hits in the 1st inning alone including Lee Jae-hyeon's three-run homer to score 8 runs, defeated KIA 12-5 to continue their march at the top of the standings, while Lotte, with Hwang Seong-bin and Go Seung-min combining for 4 RBIs, defeated Hanwha to claim the win.
