Former Korea Football Association Technical Director Lee Im-saeng and former KFA Vice President Park Hang-seo have expressed their intent not to attend the upcoming National Assembly hearing regarding the KFA.
According to the National Assembly Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee, both Lee and Park submitted statements of non-attendance, stating it would be difficult for them to participate in the KFA hearing scheduled for the 30th.
Park explained that he has been performing his duties locally as the manager of Thailand's Kanchanaburi FC since the 1st, making it difficult for him to leave his post for an extended period.
Lee reportedly conveyed that it is difficult for him to attend the hearing as he has taken a job with Cambodia's NagaWorld FC, prompting criticism over whether he is using overseas employment as an excuse to avoid the hearing just as it approaches.
On the other hand, former KFA President Chung Mong-gyu and former national team head coach Hong Myung-bo, who are considered key witnesses, have not yet submitted statements of non-attendance and are expected to attend the hearing.
Former National Team Strengthening Committee Chairman Chung Hae-sung and former KFA Vice President Lee Yong-soo are also scheduled to attend.
However, it is reported that a significant number of reference witnesses, including K-Football Innovation Committee Chairman Park Ji-sung and innovation committee members Lee Young-pyo and Park Joo-ho, have submitted statements of non-attendance.
The KFA hearing, originally scheduled to be held on the 22nd, was postponed to the 30th due to issues such as the schedule for forming the National Assembly committees.
The hearing is expected to intensively address controversies surrounding the appointment processes of former head coach Jürgen Klinsmann and former head coach Hong Myung-bo, as well as the KFA's decision-making processes and overall administration.
