The reason behind this traffic congestion appears to be the concentration of medical demand in the capital area.
According to data from the Ministry of Health and Welfare, non-capital region patients at the top 5 major general hospitals in Seoul reached 797,000, an increase of nearly 12% compared to two years ago.
While hospitals advise using public transportation or shuttle buses, many patients have physical discomfort, making the use of private cars virtually inevitable.
